Round three lower grade highlights

After a feast of runs by First Grade players on Saturday, lower grade batsmen made sure they weren’t forgotten about with some impressive performances.

At Raby Oval, Jaydyn Siddons scored 153 against Sutherland in Second grade.

Walking to the wicket at 1-7, Siddons innings, along with some significant contributions, took the home side to 9-417. Siddons put on 190 for the second wicket with Mitchell Carruthers (95).

Manish Malhotra 149 has put Mosman’s Fourth Grade side in a commanding position in its match against St George.

Malhotra was the backbone of the Mosman innings scoring 149 out of a total of 305.

St George is 4-44 in reply at stumps.

Rounding off the impressive batting performances was Tom Hamblim for Gordon’s Fifth Grade, who finished 143 not out.

He put on an unbroken 269-run link with fellow centurion Ryan Tullia. Gordon declared at 1-335 and in reply UNSW are 0-27 at stumps.

Not to be left out were some good performances by the bowlers, highlighted by Sydney’s Dylan Bent, who captured 6-20 against Fairfield-Liverpool in Third Grade.

Bent’s figures helped Sydney dismiss Fairfield-Liverpool for 143. Sydney is 2-76 in reply.

Mohammad Emran collected 6-55 from 27 overs in helping reduce Western Suburbs to 9-217 at the close of play.

Representing Parramatta Second Grade, Emran bowled economically throughout the day.

Rounding off the results was a five-wicket haul to Gavin Dennett for St George Fifth Grade.

Dennett triggered a collapse in the Mosman line up after it fell from 3-127 to 189 all out.
He finished with figures of 5-31 from 15 overs and was well supported by Paul Witherley (3-30).

In reply St George is 0-74 at stumps.
