The Border Bullets have moved into the next round of the Plan B regional Bash and in the process have kept their hopes alive of winning back to back titles.
Having tasted defeat against the Bullets last year, Southern Riverina Vipers were hoping to reverse the result and move into the next round with their clash at Moama Showground. Unfortunately for them they lost their way in the middle overs after a positive start.
The Vipers slipped from 1-72 to 7-110 at the end of their allotted 20 overs. Cameron White was the star with the ball for the Bullets, claiming 4-17 from four overs.
After a few jitters by the Bullets’ batsman which saw them fall to 4-87, they were able to regroup and pass Southern Riverina’s total with five overs to spare to record a five wicket win.
In the day’s other fixture at Oakes Oval, Lismore, Northern Rivers Rock had a thumping win over the Coffs Coast Chargers.
An economical bowling effort by Northern Rivers had reduced the Chargers to just 8-105 from their 20 overs. Caleb Ziebell finished with 3-15 from four overs in a nice performance.
In reply, The Rocks wasted little time in passing the required total requiring only nine overs and having all ten wickets intact.
The highlight in the run chase was the innings of Abe Crawford who scored 61 runs off just 26 balls in a knock that included five fours and two sixes.
The convincing win propelled Northern Rivers Rocks into the next round.
